Norpro Security Ltd. is looking for an independent and motivated individual to join our team in the role of Supervisor Guard at one the mine sites in Northern Ontario.
In this role, the Industrial Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Industrial Guards which provide safety and protection of all employees, visitors, and company assets. They are required to supervise programs and processes to reduce and control loss time injuries and for the proper execution of assigned duties.

Duties and responsibilities
Security:
•Provide security by protecting people and property.
•Conduct routine patrols with team.
•Respond to alarms.
• Monitor security equipment, supervising other security staff.
• Operate monitoring equipment and complex security cameras.
• Operate computer programs for gathering data and storing information,
• Work with technical staff members so as to ensure that computer data is secured and safe.

Staff Supervision;
•Monitor staff.
•Assign work areas for guards to patrol
•At the beginning of the shift, inspect the team to ensure they are wearing their uniforms properly and have all of their equipment.
•Brief the security team at the beginning of a new shift to update them on developments since the last shift and shares information about any security concerns.
•Ensure all the officers have reported to work and are assigned duties
• Direct staff members to take appropriate measures to neutralize possible threat
•Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.
•Review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts
•Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
•Responsible for appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
•Ensuring all training/orientations for staff are completed, up to date and documented.

Documentation:
•Ensure all post-orders are up-to date and adhered to.
•Write and submit security reports
•Monitoring fleet activities to ensure safe operations of vehicles; logging maintenance and ensuring all damages are reported accurately.
•Ensure all incident/accident reports are recorded accurately and submitted to the Manager as they occur

Communication-
•Liaise with client and management on operations, customer service, and security duties as required.
Other related duties as requested.

Qualifications
Required:
•Valid Security Guard License
•Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
•Valid Class G Driver’s License, Clear Drivers Abstract
•Clear Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check
Preferred:
•Previous Supervisory experience; minimum of two (2) years.
•Previous experience in mining, forestry, industrial, or construction site security and/or supervision.
•Must have demonstrated proficiency with computers and Microsoft programs.
•Above average English oral and written communication skills

solutions that gain the support and acceptance of all parties.

Working conditions
Work will be in an industrial mining location and will require travel off site for a minimum of 7 days on site and 7 days off, 84 hours per rotation.

Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, bend for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen on a regular basis. Must be able to perform under pressure, concentrate for a prolonged period and able to work long hours under stressful conditions. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with difficult staff, other persons.
