Waterdown Farmer's Market

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE MARKET FOR 2024

Location
Find us at the Royal Canadian Legion - Waterdown Branch - 79 Hamilton St. N. Waterdown, ON. Look for vendor tents in the east portion of the parking lot on Saturday mornings 8 AM - 1 PM from the end of May until the middle of October. Free parking is available immediately behind the Legion building.

Variety of Vendor Offerings
With 20-plus vendors – vegetables, fruits, berries, micro greens, meat, eggs, fresh cut flowers, baked goods, prepared foods, preserves, VQA wines and more – there will be lots for you to choose from.

Market Entrances
Pedestrians, enter through one of two Market Entrances (from south side off of White Oaks Blvd, just west of Hamilton Street, or from the southwest side of the back parking lot, to see what’s new and happening at the Market each week.

Be a Sustainability Partner
Green practices go hand-in-hand with the values of our Market.
Consider walking or riding your bike to Market (remember, bikes can take up space and cause bottlenecks inside the Market footprint. Bring a lock to keep your bikes safe outside the layout. We’re working on getting some new bike racks installed on the boulevards, too, and will keep you updated).
BYOBag! Vendors offer bags as needed, but why not bring your own reusable bags or baskets to get your purchases from market to home.

Need Help Getting Purchases to Your Car?
Farm produce can get heavy – especially if you’re loading up. We don’t have personal shopping carts for every customer, but we do have helpful staff who would be more than happy to help you carry (or cart) your purchases to your vehicle if parked in the back lot. Look for crew in Farmers’ Market T-shirts if you require assistance

Health and Safety First
The Waterdown Farmers’ Market is committed to operating in a way that complies with any and all Public Health guidelines with respect to food safety and infectious disease protocols. The health and well-being of Market vendors, visitors and employees remains our number one priority.

We will continue to follow all recommendations of the Ontario government and the Hamilton Public Health Unit.

Out of an abundance of caution, we will:

  • Clean and sanitize high touch surfaces and encourage hand washing and sanitization (find convenient hand sanitizing stations at Market tents or use the onsite Legion washroom facilities)
  • Encourage physical distancing where possible and practical – we will also monitor attendance and meter admittance if necessary to avoid overcrowding
  • Respect people’s choices to mask or not mask
  • Ask that you do not attend the Market if you are feeling unwell or exhibiting signs or symptoms of COVID-19
  • Request that you avoid touching food on display and ask your vendor for assistance where possible.

Market management will continue to monitor the situation and review public health guidance in the context of any changing advice from all levels of government and organizations such as Farmers’ Market Ontario. We encourage visitors to check back as necessary to learn if Market health and safety policies have been updated.
