FlamboroughToday received the following Letter to the Editor regarding Hamilton's proposed 6.3 per cent property tax increase.

The numbers for the upcoming Hamilton Budget are unacceptable.

After a $20-million increase last year the police are requesting $17 million this year, totaling $224,000,000.!!!

They must be limited (For a 35 year Change). $220,000,000 Maximum.

We are talking MILLION$ here! YES, A CUT!

Unsustainable increases and long overdue.

It is folly to tear down the existing Carlisle water tower unless it is beyond structural repair after a new tower is built.

It could be used for summer storage needs and fire protection, perhaps extending the hydrant lines to the schools at 10th Concession and Centre Road.

There seems to be little logic in our system and no one tries to change it.

The Horrible Unsightly Mess made at Flamborough Centre Community park by Conservation Halton is unacceptable.

What was a grassy wetland is now terrain unfit for man or beast. It will be a haven for mosquitoes and invasive phragmites. It should be returned to its previous state, including the baseball diamond.
