FlamboroughToday received the following Letter to the Editor regarding the state of rural roads in Hamilton.

I'm a newish reader to Flamborough Today.

I'm not too sure if the publication has done any pieces on the state of rural roads in Hamilton (let alone in the city of Hamilton).

Either way, I have to say wow. What a disgrace.

Maybe the paper can look into this more because I have contacted the city and all councillors, including the mayor and it seems to be nothing gets done with the pot-hole laden roads.

There seems to be a real lack of care and compassion by the city for the state of roads.

You really have to be vigilant when you drive Hamilton roads as much in the rural parts as you do in the city.

It's unacceptable how little the city cares, especially with the exorbitant amount we pay in property taxes.

On social media as well, people are complaining and telling their horror stories of their encounters with the sub-par conditions of our roads and the damage that is being done to their vehicles. Why can't and won't anything be done?

It's simply unacceptable but the city just does not seem to care.

Voters really need to start doing their homework next municipal election and stop voting for the same councillors that have such little respect for tax payers and their cars as well as for the roads in all of Hamilton.

Shame on council. Shame on the mayor.
