Coldest Night of the Year walkers hit the streets in Waterdown

Participants bundled up to raise over $79,000 for Eagles Nest

Mental health services in Waterdown got a big boost this weekend, as 245 walkers bundled up and hit the streets for the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) walk.

Twenty-eight teams signed in at Memorial Park before setting off for a bracing trek around the village to raise funds and awareness for services provided by Eagles Nest.

According to the Eagles Next page on the CNOY website, this year's campaign reached a whopping $79,021, far surpassing the fundraising goal of $70,000.

Freelance photographer Garry Flood, camera in hand, was there for all the action.
