Firebirds on parade, change of command for Dundas air cadets

735 Squadron celebrates its 61st anniversary in style

Arms swinging and proudly stepping members of the 735 Firebird Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets displayed their skills before Reviewing Officer Major David A. Wright, CD Deputy Commanding Officer Central Region Cadet Support Unit, Sunday afternoon in the Grightmire Arena in Dundas.

The squadron, which includes members from Dundas, Flamborough and the surrounding area, celebrated  its 61st Anniversary of the Squadron with a parade and Change of Command from Major D. Forster to Lieutenant S. MacNamara. The festivities also included displays and the presentation of Squadron Awards to outstanding recruits and service medals.

Cadets ages 12 to 18 meet each week throughout the school year at the Dundas Lions Memorial Community Centre to train and learn about aviation, leadership, drill, marksmanship, wilderness survival, sports/fitness and more.
