Chairing is Caring
Have you seen the amazing painted Muskoka chairs around town? Waterdown Village BIA has launched an amazing fundraising program, Chairing is Caring. This art project celebrates local artists and tells wonderful stories of Waterdown’s diverse communities. Chairs will be on display at local businesses all summer long and there is a QR code on each one with a link to the story of its artist on the Waterdown Village BIA website.
The chairs are being auctioned off to raise money for local charities, and Flamborough Connects is very grateful to be one of the groups that will benefit. Check out Chairing is Caring on the Waterdown Village BIA website for more information and for the stories of the chairs and their artists. Waterdown Village BIA is also posting the information on their Facebook page.
Thank you for such an amazing initiative, Waterdown Village BIA!
Flamborough Drives
Are you a Flamborough resident without access to transportation? Flamborough Connects has a volunteer driver program called Flamborough Drives. This program provides inexpensive drives to Flamborough residents, taking them for shopping, banking, personal care appointments or errands.
Funded in 2024 by a generous donation from the local 100 Women Who Care chapter, all rides for qualifying residents are subsidized at $10 per ride for the remainder of the year. If you would like to know more or become a Flamborough Drives client, please connect with us at [email protected] or call 905-689-7880.
And don’t forget to join Flamborough Connects every Friday for a barbecued hot dog, hamburger or veggie burger and a drink for only $5. For an additional donation, you will also get your choice of a bag of chips or a cookie. You can’t beat that price for a great lunch and all proceeds help support Flamborough Connects’ free and low-cost programs and services.
Stop by the Turkstra Lumber Waterdown parking lot, 61 Hamilton Street North from 11:30 – 1:30 every Friday until Labour Day. We can’t wait to see you there!
