Holiday bazaars continue this weekend, along with plenty of other community events

Community events on the calendar his weekend range from traditional holiday bazaars to an all-ages rock revue. Here are a few community events worth checking out this weekend.

Friday, Nov. 8

Waterdown Museum of Hope, Waterdown Legion, 79 Hamilton St. N.

The fall exhibit by WDHS students runs from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday (Nov. 9) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More info at https://waterdownmuseumofhope.ca/

Saturday, Nov. 9

Holly Berry Bazaar, St. Thomas Church, 715 Centre Rd. Waterdown

The annual Christmas bazaar runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 10). Penny sale, raffle prizes, handmade crafts, lunch in the bistro, bake tables and much more. Free admission.

Gift Shoppe and Country Cafe, Christ Church Flamborough, 92 Highway 8, Greensville

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Gift Shoppe, a huge selection of unique gifts something for everyone, Vendors with crafts, food for sale , candy shop and drop by in the Country Cafe for a delicious lunch.

Jonny’s Gold Ribbon Gala, Hamilton Convention Centre, 1 Summer’s Lane, Hamilton

Hosted by The Johnathan Brown Foundation in support of Keaton House Children’s Hospice, 5:30 p.m/ to midnight. Funds raised from the gala will help build a dedicated teen room specifically designed for the needs and preferences of teenagers. Sunday, Nov. 10

Hamilton Hamilton Air Force Association Open House, 128 King St. E. Dundas

To commemorate the Royal Canadian Air Force Centennial. Open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  RCAF memorabilia, archives and videos throughout the day, historical displays, educational activities, raffle for RCAF prizes. 735 Firebird Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets info table. Dundas Pipes and Drums performance at 1 p.m. followed by Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum speaker. More info at https://hamiltonairforceassociation.ca/open-house

Frankie and the Fairlanes concert at Carlisle United Church, 1432 Centre Rd.

Show starts at 3 p.m. All ages “Lucky 13” show features hits of the 1950s and ‘60s, delivered with a dose of humour and fun facts about the music by artists like Bill Haley, Elvis, the Beach Boys and Johnny Cash. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 per child. Click here to order.
