Friday, Oct. 11
Waterdown Village Scarecrow Walk and Scavenger Hunt, multiple locations
More than 120 scarecrows are on display at Waterdown Village BIA businesses from Oct. 11 to 31. Find the monster clues hidden in 20 of the scarecrows, complete the ballot and submit it for a chance to win shopping spree prizes. Rockton World’s Fair, Rockton Fairgrounds, 812 Old Highway 8
The fair kicks off Friday at 4 p.m. and runs through Thanksgiving Monday. Midway, Ag Alive Tent, 4H shows, music, demo derbies and much more. Tickets are $18 at the gate, with youth/seniors/weekend pass pricing available. Free HSR shuttle available from downtown Hamilton. Saturday, Oct. 12
Indigenous storytelling, Waterdown Public Library, 163 Dundas St. E., Waterdown
Indigenous story telling from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Learn about Indigenous storytelling and craft your story map. Story maps create a link to the star stories and the Indigenous history of oral storytelling. They use visual images and other sensory material to create memory cues and provide access to traditional knowledge. Indigenous people around the world have used visual mnemonics to carry stories forward for thousands of years. Presented by local artist Jim Adams.

Dyment’s Pumpkin Patch, Glen Drummond Farm, 416 Fallsview Rd. E., Greensville
Open each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Take a scenic wagon ride along the edge of the Niagara Escarpment to the patch and pick your perfect pumpkin, indulge in delicious food and drink, enjoy a wide selection of unique farm-themed activities and make beautiful memories this Fall! Monday, Oct. 14
Open house and food drive - all Hamilton Fire Stations
Families are welcome to visit the fire stations in Greensville, Rockton, Lynden, Freelton and Waterdown between 1 and 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Monday to meet the firefighters, take a tour, and learn valuable fire safety tips. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected for our local food banks. Click here for station addresses.
