Waterdown Museum of Hope (WMH) announced this week that it has been selected as the recipient of the 2023-24 Hamilton Municipal Heritage Committee’s “Heritage Group, Society or Specialty Team Award.”
This award is presented to a heritage group, society, or specialty team demonstrating an outstanding contribution to the conservation, restoration, and preservation of Hamilton’s built heritage or who have played a significant role in educating people on the conservation of Hamilton’s tangible and intangible heritage.
The 2023-24 HMHC Heritage Recognition Award Event will take placeThursday, June 13, 2024 at Bridgeworks, 200 Caroline St. N., Hamilton. WMH founder Rob Flosman and museum team members Karin Lang and Steffi Lang will attend the ceremony to accept the award.
"This accolade is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team in providing a rich educational experience for students and showcasing the power of storytelling in promoting understanding, tolerance and compassion within our community and beyond," WMH organizers said in a press release. to safeguard our community’s cultural and historical legacy continues to inspire and educate, emphasizing the importance of heritage conservation for future generations."

Additional local recipients this year include Winterhill Forest Farm and West Avenue Cider, which will both be presented with the a Cultural Heritage Landscape Award.
