Waterdown Warriors fall to Westdale in senior football action

Home game was a thrill for spectators, but win was out of reach

It was a battle of the Warriors in Waterdown yesterday afternoon, as the WDHS senior boys hosted Westdale. When the dust settled, Westdale came out on top, 42-28.

According to the Hamilton-Wentworth District School board Athletics website, WDHS is currently tied with Westdale for second place in their pod with a 3-1 record, behind the undefeated Westmount team.

In other games around the HWIAC league yesterday, Sir Allan MacNab beat Nora Frances Henderson 22-15, Ancaster defeated Sir Winston Churchill 71-0, Saltfleet beat Glendale 21-7, Westmount came out on top over Dundas Valley, 35-0, and Sherwood defeated Bernie Custis 19-0.

Waterdown will host Westmount next Thursday (Oct. 17) at 3 p.m. for their last scheduled regular season game. Playoffs are set to kick off with the quarter-final round the week of Oct. 24
