Peacefully, after a brief illness with family by her side, on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the age of 75. Predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Goodman. Loving mother of John and Jennifer Crowder, Deanna Bray, Tamara Crowder, and Susanne and Wayne Vince. Cherished grandmother of Evelyn, Meghan, and Alex Crowder; Wesley, Owen, Edison, and Sebastien Bray; Zane Crowder-Lord (Gianni); Micah, Zachary and Brittany Vince. Older sister to two sisters, Susan (Bob) Inman and Justina (Ernie) Moral, and one brother, Billy (Wendy) Goodman. Devoted wife of Bill Kelley since 2014.
For many years, Florence was a single mother with four young children, and she worked as hard as possible to ensure they had all their basic needs met and then some. She loved to knit and often did so for charitable groups. She enjoyed watching sports, and was a great fan of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Florence also had a love for animals, especially cows, and loved nature walks or drives. She had many friends and enjoyed all their visits and chats. Over the years, Florence worked at Walmart, St. Andrew’s Residence, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chatham, and the Chatham Daily News. Her final days were spent with her immediate family, some by her bedside and some via video and phone; mom was never alone. Special thank you to all the medical staff at Juravinski Hospital, especially nurse David Noyes, who kept a smile on her face until her last day.
In keeping with her wishes, private cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honour to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada or to Wellwood Cancer Resource Centre of Hamilton.
