With his family around him Bob passed away peacefully into God's hands. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Beatrice Newlands (Payne). Loved father of James Robert Newlands and Stacey Elizabeth (John) Hirlehey. Over the moon loved (Papa) grandfather of Nicole Ena Hirlehey. Loved husband of Fern Newlands. Survived by his sister Cheryl Rayner, brothers in law Dan (Jenny), Rick (Pat), and nephews and nieces; David, Robin, Chris, Jocelyn, and Kim. Bob drove transport trucks and was a heavy equipment operator. On his days off he enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling. He loved the outdoors.
Bob wasn't one to sit and read a book. But put him on his motorcycle or in his classic car and he was in his glory. He thoroughly enjoyed going for a 'ride' with the guys. He loved sitting at Tim’s talking with the boys about their cars. On any given day you could find him in the garage polishing his bike or car. For those of you that knew Bob, you know that he had many struggles at the end. Although this made his last few years different from the years before, he was always a kind loving man. It is with great sadness but relief to know that he is now out of pain and finally at peace. For those of you that overlooked his difficulties and made his last days a little happier I thank you very much. He is now resting peacefully.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
