Accident Support Services International Ltd. along with Hamilton Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) is implementing a new online tool for collision reporting. “Start from Home,” allows citizens who are involved in a local collision, to start a report from a mobile or desktop device.

For collisions that meet the threshold to attend a CRC, the site allows drivers to fill out required information and provide a typed statement. Users will be given a reference number to bring into a Centre so the report can be completed.

The goal of “Start from Home” is to reduce wait times by allowing community members to complete up to 85% of the report in the comfort of their home, in their car, or while waiting to speak to a CRC representative at the station.

Ontario law requires all collisions where persons are injured, or damage is valued at more than $2,000 to vehicles or property, or the collision results in damage to any highway property, must be reported to police.
