Hamilton Police Service is investigating a smash-and-grab robbery at LEBE Jewellers in the Waterdown Shopping Centre Plaza.

Hamilton police are investigating a Valentine's Day smash-and-grab robbery at LEBE Jewellers in Waterdown.

Police say they were called to the store in the Waterdown Shopping Centre plaza around 2:10 p.m. Friday, after multiple suspects used hammers "to gain entry into the business."

When FlamboroughToday visited the scene, the store's glass door had been smashed.

Police say the suspects "all fled in a vehicle with an unknown direction of travel," leaving multiple witnesses to the robbery. Nobody was injured, said a Hamilton police spokesperson.

Police have not yet said how many suspects were involved in the robbery or identified how much was stolen from the store.

Police were still on scene investigating around 4 p.m. Friday.

More to come.
