Police say man, 27, in hospital after early morning East end shooting

Investigators looking for video footage taken in Nash Road North and Bancroft Street area between 1 and 2 a.m.

Hamilton Police are investigating a targeted shooting believed to have occurred in the city's East end in the early morning hours. 

Investigators have issued a press release asking the community to assist, by providing information that may help in the investigation.

According to the media release, police responded just after 6 a.m. on Sept. 12 to reports of a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of Rainbow Drive and Secord Drive.

Officers arrived at the scene and confirmed a 27-year-old man had been shot. Police said he was transported to hospital and remains in non-life threatening condition.

Police said the shooting is believed to have taken place in the area of Nash Road North and Bancroft Street between 1 and 2 a.m.

Anyone with video taken in the area is asked to check their cameras for evidence of suspicious activity between 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
