The Waterdown Lions annual ComedyFest is back for another side-splitting evening of entertainment and laughter, March 22 in the heart of Waterdown Village, at Memorial Hall.
“This year’s ComedyFest features four fantastic stand-up comedians: Paul Haywood, Daryl Purvis, Tyler Little and David Green,” said Lion Travis Bird. “We know there will be lots of laughs with this talented lineup!”
Paul Haywood won the Toronto New Comic Search in 1998. Over the 20 years since, he has performed in packed theaters of 1000 people and to 25 people in a man-cave garage. You can see Paul’s own Comedy Now special on CTV, The Comedy Network, and online, and he can be heard on XM Satellite radio.
Tyler Little is a comedian who has performed at Kitchener Waterloo’s Rusty Nail comedy club chain, Hamilton’s Levity comedy club, and the YukYuks rising comic showcase. He’s a co-founder (along with Paul Haywood) of the wildly popular ‘Canned Laughs’, a comedy initiative that gives a portion of proceeds to local food banks.
David Green is known as “The Punniest Comic in Canada”. He has been featured on CTV’s Canada’s Got Talent and at Just For Laughs Toronto. He has been on stage with Alonzo Bodden, Jamie Kennedy, Sean Cullen, K Trevor Wilson, Ed The Sock, The Trailer Park Boys, and Cash Cab’s Adam Growe. David’s online videos have amassed over 9 million views across the globe.
Daryl Purvis is considered one of the first-rate joke writers on the Canadian comedy scene. Originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, he has performed at clubs across North America and the UK, as well as numerous national television and radio appearances including his own comedy special for CTV/The Comedy Network and the Halifax Comedy Festival. His comedy golf podcast “Where’s That Bar Cart?” is consistently ranked in the top 20 golf podcasts.
“This is an amazing night of comedy, and a fundraiser for local programs that the Waterdown Lions support, like the food banks and other social initiatives,” explained Bird. “The evening is licensed, so we ask that minors come with an adult. There will also be other refreshments available for purchasing.”
Waterdown Lions ComedyFest is happening March 22 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall, 317 Dundas St. E., Waterdown. Tickets can be purchased for $25 online here.
“Come out for a hilarious evening, a feel-good community event, and support important local programming,” said Bird. “Bring your friends and make a night of it! You will be glad you did!”
