Ho! Ho! Ho!
It’s time for the annual Santa Claus Parade in Flamborough. On November 30 at 6:30 p.m. over 30,000 spectators will gather along the parade route to feel the joy of this yearly community event.
“Together with the Waterdown Lions Club, Optimist Club of Carlisle, Rotary Club of Waterdown and Rotary AM Club of Waterdown, the Flamborough Santa Claus Parade committee invites you to join us for this spectacular night!” said a parade committee member.
Since 1994, this parade has been supported and sponsored by many community businesses and the community itself. Spectators are invited to toss some toonies into the donation buckets, or use a card on the TIP TAP machines to help pay for this wonderful holiday tradition.
“Our sponsors usually bring in about 75% of the monies needed to pay for the parade, and we do rely on community donations to meet our budget,” said the committee member.
The parade has been a tradition for generations of Flamborough residents for decades.
“I grew up in Waterdown and loved watching the parade as a teen. Now, I am raising my kids here and bringing them to the parade. Going to the parade has been a family tradition for many years,” said a community member. “It’s one of our main holiday events that we look forward to.”
The Flamborough Santa Claus Parade starts on Hamilton Street at Rockhaven Lane, and will wind through beautiful downtown Waterdown, ending at the corner of Hamilton Street and Parkside Drive. There will be over 60 eye-popping floats, marching bands, and other wonderful sights guaranteed to bring the magic of the holiday season to everyone watching. Of course, the jolly old elf, Santa Claus, will make his appearance at the end of the parade.
“Since 1994, the Santa Claus Parade has been a tradition that the Flamborough community has greatly enjoyed. Each year, families come together to enjoy the sights and sounds that can only be created by the magic of Christmas. Over 30,000 residents and visitors line the streets, eager to catch a glimpse of jolly old St. Nick. We hope to see you there on November 30!”
