The Hellions Car Club wouldn’t let a little rain put a damper on their parade, so to speak. They’re back with a rain date for the Hellions Unfinished Nationals Car Show, Sunday, June 30 at Flamboro Speedway.

The organizers had to cancel on the morning of the last show day because of the all-day heavy rain. Despite many of the vendors, car owners and attendees showing up and making a go of it in the pouring rain, the Hellions made the call at 9am and opted to postpone the show to June 30th.

They’re hoping the rescheduled event will be bigger and better than before.

It’s the perfect event for the Canada Day long weekend as the Hellions are expecting close to 100 vendors and hundreds of cars on display for collectors and car-lovers to check out. From hot rods, to ratrods, to classic cars, to modern marvels, even unfinished cars and trucks will be on display.

“It’s something special to see all these custom cars,” said Hellions president Cole Sefc. “When you see a whole infield of a racetrack full of unique cars, there are 400 to 800 cars on the racetrack. If you go up in the stands and look down, it’s really impressive.”

Every car will get a Canadian flag at the show, and the Hellions encourage attendees to show your Canadian pride for this special event that caters to all car enthusiasts.

The Hellions Car Club began in 1968 and now has 20 chapters across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. The Hellions Car Club brings together members of all ages and backgrounds who share a love of custom cars and trucks.

Proceeds for this year’s Hellions Unfinished Nationals Car Show and Swap Meet will benefit Halton Women’s Place. The Hellions are proud to support a crucial organization like Halton Women’s Place that’s essential to the community.

Because this is their second attempt at the show, the Hellions organizers had some extra time to tweak some things and make things better. They joked that the original date was the “dry-wet run”, but the green flag drops Sunday, June 30 at Flamboro Speedway for a day of muscle cars and classic custom rides.

After all their hard work behind the scenes and the false start because of the rain-out earlier this month, Sefc and his wife Rachel Arseneau say they’re really looking forward to seeing everyone at the track.

“There’s a lot of logistics required the day of the show to get it all right. The guys on the street are directing the traffic, handing out waivers for the racetrack. The gate team checking in the show cars and waving them onto the track.

“Parking show cars on the track and getting every car parked strategically so they fit and have a safe exit off the track later. Watching it all come together is just a cool thing to see,” Arseneau said.

Sefc echoes the same sentiment, that it’s a great deal of work to put together such a massive car show, but to assemble all these people into one place for one amazing day makes it truly special.

“Just seeing everybody happy and that we all did this, it’s a sense of accomplishment,” Sefc said. “I was a firefighter for 30 years, and to help others and see how happy they are, that’s going to be pretty cool for me. It makes all our hard work worthwhile.”

The 18th Annual Hellions Unfinished Nationals Car Show happens Sunday, June 30 at Flamboro Speedway, 173 5th Concession Rd W, Millgrove, Ontario. Tickets are available in advance, but also available at the gate on show day.

$15 per show car, $10 for spectators and $25 for a Vendor Spot. To find out more, email [email protected] or visit the Hellions Car Show website, or check them out on Facebook and Instagram.
