More than 250 people attended Flamborough Connects' Seniors Education sessions last year, including an informative presentation by Dr. Nora Curran-Blaney (right) in May.

Flamborough Connects is thrilled to share the highlights of a truly remarkable year!

In 2024 we experienced a year of growth and impact, and we are proud of all that we accomplished together. Here are just a few of the milestones we celebrated:

  • 1,589 events posted on our Community Events Calendar
  • 254 seniors attended our informative Education Sessions
  • 256 Food Bank Deliveries made to Flamborough residents
  • 187 Holiday Gifts distributed to seniors, marking a 31 per cent increase from last year
  • 429 Income Tax returns filed for community members
  • 199 seniors participated in our new Seniors Social Connections program
  • 229 Wheel of Fitness sessions held across the Flamborough
  • 51 volunteers attended our fabulous Volunteer Appreciation Celebration
  • We proudly launched the Flamborough Community Guide

We are deeply grateful to our volunteers, Board of Directors, community partners, and the entire Flamborough Connects team for making these achievements possible. Your support and dedication truly made 2024 a year to remember.

Funders make it possible

We are incredibly grateful to our generous funders, whose grants enable Flamborough Connects to continue offering free and low-cost programs. A special thank you to 4Imprint for their recent grant, which will allow us to produce branded sticky note pads—an essential tool for sharing information with our clients.

A new face

Flamborough Connects is excited to again partner with Mohawk College and the Social Service Worker program to host a placement student this winter. A warm welcome to Casey who will be joining the Flamborough Connects’ team for a semester.

Wheel of Fitness

This is the perfect time to get active! Flamborough Connects is excited to offer Wheel of Fitness, a free gentle fitness program designed for older adults. Classes have started and are running every week across Flamborough, including at locations in Beverly Hills Estates, Strabane, Troy, West Flamborough and  Waterdown, and we will be relaunching our virtual class in February if there is enough interest.

To find out more or to register for a Wheel of Fitness class, connect with us at [email protected] or call 905-689-7880.
