There are still a few tickets left to Theatre Ancaster's annual Christmas radio production this Saturday.
The local tradition, which raises money for Ancaster Community Services, takes place at the Old Firehall theatre at 334 Wilson St. E. This year's show is It's a Wonderful Life.
The production reproduces the live radio show based on the famous 1947 movie starring Jimmy Stewart as the unassuming town hero who comes close to jumping from the town bridge, only to find that without him, the quality of life in his town would have been much poorer.
Presented as a live radio drama, the show features live sound effect foley work and mimics the original radio ads of the period. Treats and hot cider provided, to help the audience feel like they're snuggled up around the fire and listening to the show over the family radio.
Everyone involved in this production volunteers their time, and nearly all production elements are donated to ensure that Theatre Ancaster can donate 100 per cent of the ticket sales to Ancaster Community Services.
The Friday and Sunday shows are sold out, but seats are available for the Saturday shows, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 per person and can be purchased through the Theatre Ancaster website.
