NEWS RELEASE
WATERDOWN LEGION BRANCH 551
*************************
Veteran’s banners are now available for purchase at a cost of $200. In order for us to display before the May 5 opening of the Waterdown Museum of Hope, we ask that you place your order prior to Feb. 15. Criteria covers members who have served or are serving in the Canadian Military or RCMP Officers; Canadian Military, RCMP and Allied Veterans or Civilian Police Officers that have been deployed overseas under the NATO or United Nations banners.

Please contact Bob Thomas at (905) 690-8603 or [email protected] for assistance in placing your order. Applications are also available at our branch. Please see the on-duty bar steward. We will require an electronic photograph, preferably in .jpeg format with a minimum of 300 dpi resolution and proof of service. We know that sometimes with age, it is difficult for families to have this information readily available. We will help you.

The AM Rotary Club of Flamborough will be installing poles for us to display the banners on Hamilton Street beside our cenotaph. They will be put up during the Museum of Hope Spring display and from mid-October until after Nov. 11.

This is an excellent opportunity for families to recognize and remember a loved one who is presently serving or who has served our country during times of peace and war. If you are interested, please place your order without delay.
