Families learn about Indigenous storytelling at library presentation

Artist and educator Jim Adams spoke about story maps, and how images help access traditional knowledge

Several families took a break from Thanksgiving weekend activities to take in a special presentation at the Waterdown Library Saturday morning.

Jim Adams, who is also known as Many Hats, is a Cree artist and educator. He spoke about the importance of storytelling in Indigenous Heritage. The program also outlined how to craft a story map, which uses visual images and other sensory material to create memory cues and provide access to traditional knowledge.
