FLAMBOROUGH FUN: Here's what's going on around town Dec. 6-8

It's cold outside, but there's plenty of community fun to keep you warm

Westfield Heritage Village’s Christmas in the Woods runs on Dec. 8 and 15.

Music, treats, and of course some visits with Santa are all on the agenda this weekend. Here are a few great ideas for getting out this weekend:

Friday, Dec. 6

Christmas Concert, Redemption Church, 823 Safari Rd., Millgrove

Concert starts at 7:30 p.m., with performances on Friday and Saturday evening featuring 60-voice choir performing carols and traditional classics. Admission: Donation to the Flamborough food bank.

Saturday, Dec. 7

Christmas Cookie Walk, Rockton United Church, 792 Old Hwy. 8

From 9 to 10 a.m. Annual Christmas Cookie Walk at Rockton Church. $7/dozen or 3 dozen for $20. Bring your own containers for the goodies. First come, first serve.

Selfies With Santa/Christmas Sale, Animal Adoptions of Flamborough, 1269 Centre Rd.

Come with your pet or your kids from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Santa Pictures are taken on your own phone and are by donation to Animal Adoptions of Flamborough. Santa will be outside in his sleigh or inside the foyer in his comfy chair! Join us upstairs  at the shelter for a Bake Sale and Christmas Sale ... decorations, new items, "gently used" items, stocking stuffers, crafts and more!

Winterdown Kids’ Day, Waterdown Legion, 79 Hamilton St. N.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Family fun includes magic, music, crafts, treats and a visit from Santa. 

iCommunity Toy Drive - Treasure Hunt parking lot, 30 Horseshoe Dr., Waterdown 

The event runs from 12 to 6 p.m. and will feature the Waterdown Fire Station and their fire truck from 1 to 3:30 p.m., plus a raffle for prizes for those who donate toys. All donations will support local kids through the Operation Santa Claus Toy Truck Drive and CHCH’s Toy Drive, spreading holiday cheer to families in need across Hamilton. Breakfast with Santa, Christ Church Flamborough, 92 Hwy. 8

Hosted by the Greensville Optimist Club from 8:30 to 11 a.m. All you can eat. Adults: $10, kids $5, preschoolers free. Food bank donations will be accepted. Santa pics $8. 

Live Music, Waterdown Legion, 79 Hamilton St. N.

Northshore Blvd. is playing from 8 p.m. to midnight. Cover charge, $5, please also bring a donation for the Flamborough Food Bank.

Sunday, Dec. 8

A Charlie Brown Christmas, Grace Anglican Church, 157 Mill St. N., Waterdown

A musical presentation of A Charlie Brown Christmas, featuring live jazz musicians followed by open mic and refreshments. Fun starts at 4 p.m. All welcome - admission is by free will donation.

Christmas in the Woods, Westfield Heritage Village, 1049 Kirkwall Rd., Rockton

Program runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 and 15. The Village will be decorated for the season and there will be delightful activities inside and out. Christmas baking, carol singing, Father Christmas, and a model train diorama will delight visitors. Dress for the weather and enjoy the great outdoors with wagon rides, free popcorn, scavenger hunt, and a lovely walk in the winter forest. Then warm up by the roaring fire, while enjoying some old-fashioned Christmas treats. The General Store and Gift Shop will be open, and the Ironwood will have delicious light refreshments available.
