Looking for something to keep busy on these cold January days? We've got you covered! Here are a few great ideas for getting out this weekend:

Friday, Jan. 17

Waterdown Legion Fish Fry, 79 Hamilton St. N., Waterdown

Serving from 5 to 6:30 pm - eat in or take out. Walk-ins welcome, cash only. One-piece dinner, $14, two-piece dinner $17. Includes haddock, fries and coleslaw. Entertainment by Mike Hubley - KountryFryd Music.

Saturday, Jan. 18

Winterfest - Rosebough Park, 23 Rosebough St., Greensville

Hosted by the Greensville Optimists - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Skating, tobogganing, games, snowman building contest, Free hot dogs and hot chocolate, prizes.

Connon Winter Market, 656 Robson Rd., Waterdown

The Winter Market runs each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Jan. 11 to March 29. Featuring local vendors and artisans,  live music. For a list of vendors visit the Connon Nurseries website

TERRA Winter Market, 8 5th Concession E., Waterdown

The Winter Market runs Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featuring dozens of local farm and food vendors and artisans. For more info, visit the TERRA website.

Live Music at Waterdown Legion, 79 Hamilton St. N. 

Dance  the night away to the sounds of Embrace, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Cover charge is $5.

All weekend

Winterlit at Mountsberg Conservation Area

Conservation Halton's Winterlit program continues on weekend evenings. Visitors can enjoy a moonlit stroll along two different trails featuring sustainably sourced, illuminated art installations. The program runs Friday through Sunday until Feb. 17 (Feb. 14 excluded). Two-hour time slots  available with start times every 10 minutes between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The cost for Conservation Halton members is $16 per adult or $14 per child or senior; for non-members the cost is $22 per adult and $19 per child or senior. Activities offered at additional fees include the Starry Night Hike, Beeswax Candle Making and Discovering Owls. For more info or ticket information, visit the Conservation Halton website.
