Pancakes, cookies, carols and the Santa Claus Parade are all happening this weekend

The Flamborough Santa Claus Parade has been a magical event in Waterdown for 30 years.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around Flamborough! There are certainly plenty of fun events on the calendar, including one of the biggest of the year: the Santa Claus Parade on Saturday night. So pull up a lawn chair and check them out:

Thursday, Nov. 28

Flamborough Heritage Society Meeting, Grace Anglican Church, 157 Mill St. N., Waterdown

Public meeting starts at 8 p.m. This month’s speaker is City of Hamilton Heritage Presentation Co-ordinator Christopher Redford, who will be talking about the Hamilton and Scourge National Historical Site in Confederation Park. Admission is free, refreshments will be available and all are welcome.

Friday, Nov. 29

Winterdown Tree Lighting, various locations, Downtown Waterdown

Activities run from 4 to 8 p.m. including horse-drawn wagon rides, bands, carollers and other holiday entertainment, horse-drawn wagon rides, a kids’ zone at Memorial Hall.  Tree lighting takes place at 7:15 p.m. on the lawn of the EarlyON Centre, 315 Dundas St. E. Saturday, Nov. 30

Food 4 Kids pancake breakfast at Waterdown Legion, 79 Hamilton St. N.

Breakfast with Santa takes place Saturday, Nov. 30 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Advance tickets are on sale now, with special pricing: $40 per family of four, $12.50 per adult and $10 per child. They can also be purchased at the door: $50 per family, $15 per adult, $12.50 per child. Admission includes face painting, kids activities and more.

Cookie Walk, Christ Church Flamborough, 92 Hwy. 8, Greensville

Homemade Cookies –  you pick and choose which variety you want and the quantity. Great selection of all types of everyone's Christmas favourite treats. Doors open at 10 a.m., cookies available until sold out.

Food With Grace fundraiser, Canadian Tire, 11 Clappison Ave., Waterdown 

Vintage Chevy stake truck will be on site, Santa will be in the store, and Food With Grace volunteers will be collecting donations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Flamborough Santa Claus parade, Downtown Waterdown

Starting at 6:30pm sharp, the parade starts on Hamilton Street at Rockhaven Lane, and will wind through beautiful downtown Waterdown, ending at the corner of Hamilton Street and Parkside Drive.

Christmas Concert, St Alban’s Church, 758 Old Hwy 8, Rockton

Join us at 7 p.m. for our annual Christmas Concert! This non denominational event is a great way to celebrate the season in the historic St Alban’s Church with its original oil lit lamps providing a uniquely beautiful setting to enjoy! Everyone is welcome! 

Sunday, Dec. 1

Pet photos with Santa, Global Pet Foods, 255 Dundas St. E., Waterdown

Sessions with professional photographer Lindsey Ryder from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Suggested minimum donation $15; proceeds go to Standard Poodles in Need. Advance booking suggested - RSVP at 289-895-8540 or in person at the store. 

Christmas Concert & Community Carol Sing, Freelton Strabane United Church, 1575 Brock Rd.

The music begins at 7 p.m. Please join the Christmas Choir for a musical evening of seasonal & traditional presentations and carol singing for all! Light refreshments to follow. Free Will offering gratefully accepted.
