HAMILTON HARBOURTOWN SOUND

Hamilton’s premier male a cappella chorus will be host to hundreds of a cappella singers from around the province for the annual fall convention of the Ontario District of the Barbershop Harmony Society being held at the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre at Mohawk College on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18 and 19.
More than just a weekend of singing four-part a cappella barbershop harmony, it is a weekend of serious competition for quartets and choruses from across Ontario under the watchful eyes and ears of a panel of judges from across North America.
Qualifying choruses from the weekend will advance to the Barbershop Harmony Society International Convention in Denver, Colorado, in July 2025.
A qualifying seniors quartet will advance to the 2025 Midwinter in San Antonio, Texas.
Top scoring eligible quartets will win their respective Ontario District titles for 2024.
Harbourtown Sound has had the honour of representing the Ontario District at conventions in Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Orlando, Louisville and most recently Cleveland.
The Ontario District is one of the 17 districts of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the world’s largest a cappella singing organization, and is the only all-Canadian district.
It is committed to serving and supporting its 20+ barbershop chapters, over 30+ quartets, and over 600+ members throughout Ontario, and it is committed to promoting the Society’s mission of bringing singers together in fellowship and harmony to enrich lives through singing.
Member choruses and quartets are encouraged to perform throughout their communities in support of worthwhile civic, cultural, educational, and charitable endeavours.
