Golden oldies, banter with the audience and some surprise guests made for a show to remember

Carlisle United Church was rockin' Sunday afternoon to the sounds of Frankie and the Fairlanes.

The St. Thomas, Ont.-based band filled the Centre Road facility with the songs and stories of the golden age of rock, from the early 1950s through to the big Vegas productions of the '70s. Carlisle native Mike "Frankie" Lambert (lead guitar, vocals0 was joined onstage by Gary Lee Robb on keyboards, Ron Diamond on drums and Daryn Bee on bass, sax and vocals.

The room was packed, and the appreciative audience sang along, clapped and tapped their toes to their favourites during the revue-style show. During intermission, church volunteers served up homemade treats and apple cider. Proceeds from the concert will go towards maintenance projects at the church.
