Proceeds from the Saturday night event will help build a teen room at Keaton's House

Jonny's Gold Ribbon Gala filled the Hamilton Convention Centre's top floor Saturday night, and more than 250 people turned out for the fundraiser for Keaton's House - Paul Paletta Hospice.

Organized by the Jonathan Brown Foundation, the gala not only raised money to build a room geared specifically for teens at the Dundas hospice, but it also shared the story of Carlisle resident Jonny Brown, who died of cancer in 2021 at age 19.

Jonny's parents Allan and Claudia took the stage, along with his siblings Rachel and Michael, and guests heard Jonny's words via a video made by his brother. As well, his doctors, Dr. David Lysecki and Dr. Greg Zuniga, shared stories about him and stressed the need for the hospice.

Gala guests had a chance to further support the cause through several fun activities, including a gift basket draw, silent auction and a live auction.

The evening closed out with live music by the McFlys.
