RBG Winter Wonders: interact with light, music, trains in magical setting

Live performances from eight artists and interactive light displays will bring the gardens to life until early January

The Royal Botanical Gardens’ (RBG) Winter Wonders event will be back to light up Hendrie Valley from Thursday, Dec. 5 to Sunday, Jan. 5.

The annual event let's residents walk through the gardens at night to explore various light fixtures, listen to live music, enjoy food and drinks and watch roaming entertainers perform under the lights.

Interactive light exhibits, like the Singing Tree, react to sounds made by attendees nearby to create unique displays. Eight different artists, including Mo Guzman, Kat Steeves, Jeff Eager and the Sapphire Quartet, will be performing on different nights throughout the month.

Attendees can also check out the yearly Botanical Train Display inside the RBG, which is made up of entirely plant-based materials and features 2,500 plants surrounding the model train.

Tickets to Winter Wonders cost $20 for adults and $16 for children, and it runs from 5 to 9 p.m. every Thursday to Sunday, other than Thursday, Dec. 26, until the event ends on Sunday, Jan. 5.
