Unexpectedly at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton on Sunday, December 22, 2024, Addie Patriquin passed away in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Isaac “Ike” James Patriquin (2013). Loving mother of Lillis (Tony) Butlin of Dundas, and Russlyn (David, predeceased) Dyke of Nova Scotia. Adoring grandmother of Nick and Lyndsay (Matt); and proud great-grandmother of Austin. Survived by her sister Phyllis (Don) Ross of Waterdown and her sister-in-law Connie of Hamilton. Predeceased by her brothers Ross and Gord. Addie will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Addie truly lived a full life and was always active and social. A proud longtime resident of the Village of Waterdown. She was a passionate elementary school teacher with various Hamilton-Wentworth Schools. Active with her membership at St. James United Church in Waterdown serving in the UCW, the Choir, Sunday School as teacher and superintendent, member of the Church Board and Pastoral Care Committee. In her retirement, she volunteered over the years with various organizations from Meals on Wheels to the Flamborough Food Bank. She was an avid sports fan watching curling matches, cheering on her Toronto Blue Jays and Hamilton Ti-Cats. A woman that lived a full life with too much to really mention. Overall, her true pride and passion was with her family and she was so proud to meet her great-grandson, Austin.
Friends may visit with the family at MILLGROVE UNITED CHURCH, 370 Concession 5 West, Millgrove on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the start of a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Reception will follow in the church hall. Cremation has taken place, private interment at a later date with her husband in Nova Scotia.
