Drug dealer sets up shop near Hamilton pharmacy

Suspect was selling fentanyl and trading for prescription drugs, say police

On Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024 members of the Hamilton Police Division 1 High Enforcement Action Team (H.E.A.T) began a drug investigation regarding a male selling illegal drugs near an unsuspecting pharmacy.

During the investigation, Police confirmed that a male suspect was selling fentanyl and other prescription pills. Further, he was also openly trading fentanyl for prescription drugs.

The male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • trafficking schedule 1 – opioid
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking – schedule 1 opioid
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking – schedule 1 fentanyl
  • proceeds of crime under $5,000
  • possession contrary to order
