Hamilton drug bust nets $139K in cocaine, possible fentanyl

A large quantity of cash was also recovered at Ferrie Street West address, say police

The Hamilton Police Service Major Gang Unit began an investigation into drug trafficking in July of this year. This investigation eventually led the detectives to apply for multiple search warrants which were authorized for two properties in downtown Hamilton, along with a motor vehicle.

On Dec. 11, these search warrants were executed, and in total 787 grams of cocaine and 612 grams of suspected fentanyl were seized from within an address on Ferrie Street West. These drugs would have an approximate street value of $139,900. A large quantity of currency was also seized during the investigation.

Ali Taulban, 23 years old, of the City of Hamilton has been charged with  possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possessing fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime over $5,000 and proceeds of crime under $5,000. He has since been released on bail.
