A 35-year-old male from Hamilton was arrested for possession of a restricted loaded firearm as well as possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs

Hamilton Police recovered a firearm during a traffic stop on Rymal Road East in the City of Hamilton.

On Oct. 15, 2024, Hamilton Police initiated a traffic stop for a highway traffic act infraction. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer observed signs of cannabis use within the motor vehicle.

The male was subsequently arrested under the Cannabis Act and when the officer searched the male incident to arrest, he was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm along with a large quantity of drugs.

A 35-year-old male from Hamilton was arrested for possession of a restricted loaded firearm as well as possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs.
