Teen pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run

The Hamilton Police Service are currently investigating a motor vehicle collision that has left a teenage male victim with serious injuries.

On Wednesday December 25, 2024 around 1:00am, the Hamilton Police Service responded to the area of Main Street East and Crosthwaite Avenue North for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

The victim was crossing Main Street East, just East of Crosthwaite Avenue North. At the same time, the suspect vehicle was travelling westbound on Main Street East.

The suspect vehicle struck the victim and the vehicle continued travelling westbound without remaining on scene.

The victim sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital accordingly.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a black sedan.  No license plate was obtained at the time.

The Hamilton Police Service is asking motorists that were in the area at that time and property owners to please check their dashcams and CCTV for footage that may assist investigators with this occurrence.
