Today, Thursday, Jan 18, Peter Street, Mississauga St and the walkways between the OMAH building, to the back towards and throughout the municipal parking lots off Colbourne St were icy, snow covered and dangerous for most folks to walk on. A fall just waiting to happen with ice under the snow!

If the government doesn't step up to resolve the Thelma and Glen Perry issue, I suggest Perrys' daughter, Joan Trensch set up a GO FUND ME program to help these people out? There will be MANY, I'm sure, that would be prepared to help them!

A conscientious neighbour arranges a "spring - pet waste patrol" for pet litter and waste collection. Young and older, pet owners were out last weekend in full force; our small community is extremely happy with their efforts!

This bandaid solution is guaratneed to have the same results as we have now. High interest in the PSW training program and HIGH attrition within the 1st 6-18 months of employment. FIX the problem! Wages, benefits, a respectful environment and full time employment help create commitment and loyalty. FIX this within the public (and private) sector employers , don't just continue to bandaid with training! When is the Government going to get this figured out? Canadian citizens over 60 should be jumping all over this issue! i
This is our future health care, as we age and require assistance, that is also at stake!!
