Property owners on the Waterdown and area Garden Walk (WGW) will be showcasing their civic pride June 29 and 30, by opening up their gardens to visitors.

This annual event brings garden lovers from many different communities to the area. It also provides an opportunity for people within the community to get to know others and make new friends.

The tour is free, and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, rain or shine. Maps will be available for pick up at 130 Mill Street North.

Homeowners who graciously open their gardens help new gardeners get inspired to turn an idea into a reality. Seeing what other homeowners have done to their gardens can also energize a local novice or reluctant gardener to try out new ideas and further add beauty to our area.

The WGW runs in conjunction with the Hamilton Spectator Open Garden Week that takes place from June 23 to July 2. We have found that gardens usually look their
best during this time.

Consider the enjoyment you will bring to visitors by opening up your garden. We are still looking for additional homeowners to open their front, side, and/or back yards to help host the WGW.

To volunteer your garden, contact [email protected] as soon as possible.
